Welcome.... To Feltham Festival 2012
Welcome once again to the Feltham Festival, which takes place every year throughout February, March and April. This year’s Festival will provide plenty of activities across the West Area of Hounslow. We have worked in co operation with many talented local groups and organisations to select and design activities and projects for people of all ages to enjoy. Our aim as festival directors is to ensure that everyone is given opportunities to access interesting projects and workshops in the arts and to celebrate the diverse cultural traditions in the London Borough of Hounslow. Congratulations to Georgia Paige Mackey from Feltham Community College for her vibrant winning design for this year’s brochure cover, your design really caught the judges eyes. Well done also to Megan Monk our runner up who is also from Feltham Community College for her striking design which is on the back of the brochure. This is a unique festival that gives everyone living in Feltham, Hanworth and Bedfont the opportunity to participate in arts, dance and community activities or showcase their work through exhibitions or to a live audience.
See you in February!

NEW YEARS DAY MEDAL CEREMONY This year Feltham Arts Association represented the London Borough of Hounslow in the London New Years Day Parade 2012. We invited local dance groups of adults, children and young volunteers to come and take part and we had a fantastic range of dancers including Chinese, Dhol Drummers, Irish, Capoeira (Brazilian), Tamil, Afro Caribbean, Nepalese and Moroccan. This year’s entry was a most ambitious display with a ‘Mobile Archway’ – symbolic of the onset of the Olympic Year - signifying the entry for thousands of air traveler’s into England through Hounslow and its welcoming multicultural community. The archway was decorated with flags from around the world and a succession of performers, dancers and musicians showcasing their cultural traditions and costumes took their sequence through the archway and a group of young sports people from Hounslow led our entry with flags. Each year the London Borough entries are awarded medals and we thought it would be great if they did their spectacular dance routine one more time for the people of Hounslow. Medal Ceremony and Performance on Thursday 1st March at 6pm at Paul Robeson Theatre. The Treaty Centre, Hounslow Free tickets available places are limited please book in advance to avoid disappointment on 020 8844 1802.
